At a distance of about 25 km to the Northwest of Mahableshwar is a village named Tapola at the foot of a hill. Tapola is very famous for the boating developed by the government since past 10 years. It is also called the Mini-Kashmir of Maharashtra since nature has been showered at this particular place in abundance. This lake has been created due to the inflation of Koyna Dam water and is surrounded with greenery from all sides. Small villages situated nearby to the lake are Bamnoli, Khurkundi, Pavashewadi etc. A semi-luxury bus leaves from Mahableshwar for Tapola at 9.30 am.
